Greetings from Devon, UK

Hello, I’m Chris Medway, a Christian composer, songwriter and producer from Devon in the south west peninsula of England. Welcome to my website which is a window into my extensive musical world. I have two main, very different, musical passions: 1 . To create textured, multi-layered music that can change the atmosphere of a room. To achieve this, I have an electronic/cinematic music project under the name CosmoMoose , and was formerly part of the 3-piece live synth band Axxent Opaque. My atmospheric, textured electronic music is usually melodic with strong themes, often telling a musical story, painting a picture or expressing an emotion. 2 . To write quirky, sometimes humorous songs that make you smile. I write Christian worship songs, including Kids Praise Songs which are often fun and quirky. Whether creating electronic music or songs for children, my music often has a theatrical quality, and I have also composed for musical theatre , including a musical about the Biblical character of Daniel. I have combined all these musical loves into Soundtrack composing, which I thoroughly enjoy and am seeking to do more of.

New Project: Psalmbience

Psalmbience is where I read A Psalm from the Bible to share, illuminate and express God’s word over specially composed ambient music. The idea was conceived when, a few years ago, some members of my church were in a carnival procession and were handing tiny glass jars with little scrolls of scripture written on them. The one handed to me was Psalm 121 and, as I read it, a melody came to my head which suited the length and rhythm of the Psalm. Coincidentally, I have always enjoyed expressing God’s word and have been encouraged in reading it out aloud at Bible groups etc. I have also enjoyed composing ambient music as CosmoMoose and, alongside sharing God’s word, Psalmbience has begun, for Christian meditation and for sharing God's Word. The first release is Psalm 121 (I lift my eyes to the Hills) . The first track includes a reading of the Psalm from the Bible and the second track is a meditative instrumental version.
