NEW Axxent Opaque CD/DVD Release
The brand new Axxent Opaque CD/DVD album " FROM THE DARK DIMENSION" ( referring to coming out of the dark period of lockdown) is now available on Bandcamp This recording, featuring 9 brand new tracks, is from the live internet broadcast that took place on 30 October 2021, which can be heard on CD and viewed/heard on DVD. We are extremely pleased with this release. The live performance on the night was better than we ever could have hoped for. It all just came together perfectly.

NEW CosmoMoose Christmas Single Release
This chillout arrangement of the well known English Christmas Carol In the Bleak Midwinter composed by Gustav Holst is released to download from Bandcamp and stream/download from Spotify/Apple Music/Amazon etc. This is my third arrangement of a Christmas tune (the others being “Away in a Manger” and “I saw three ships” and is a lush arrangement with piano, strings and choir mixed electronic ambience. Axxent Opaque performed at Lockdown Livestreamers
Our synth band performed an hour long set, between 11pm-12am, that was broadcast live on YouTube, being the last of four acts performing that night. This was the result of a few days of rehearsing, or rather creating new material to perform, partially structured and partially improvised. The video and audio quality for the viewers was great and we performed the entire set better than we had done all weekend.

Axxent Opaque were guests on Radio Show
Tonight we were honoured to be guests on the Future Sound Of Exeter radio show, hosted by Paul Giblin , and broadcast on Phonic FM . The two hour show passed very quickly as Paul played our entire album From The Dark Dimension interspersed with other electronic music. It was great being able to talk about each track in turn and generally describe the creative process that went into producing the album. It was a lot of fun to do and Paul was a great host. Axxent Opaque to appear at Awakenings
It is great news that the Awakenings series of live electronic music events has restarted after what feels like an eternity due to the virus. This will be Axxent Opaque ’s first live concert in front of a live audience since June 2019. The date is Saturday May 21st. The venue is once again the Lea Hall Social Club, Sandy Lane, Rugeley, Staffordshire WS15 2LB. Start times to be confirmed, but it is an evening concert. Away in A Manger released on Bandcamp
This synth version of Away in a Manger is now available to download from Bandcamp . It was originally made to be a backing track to accompany children singing in a church carol service in 2007-8 and was later released as part of a charity- Christmas EP in December 2010 under my own name. Even though it was made before I started recording as CosmoMoose , I re-released it under that name because its synth tone is in keeping with the 'CosmoMoose sound'.

Axxent Opaque performance at Awakenings
The three-piece synth group I’m in, Axxent Opaque, played before a live audience for the first time in almost three years at Awakenings, held at Lea Hall Social Club, Sandy Lane, Rugeley, Staffordshire. We performed a brand new set of original material that was melodic, dramatic and varied, with a sequenced video backdrop, before an enthusiastic and appreciative audience. My last day in full-time employment
After balancing my music with a non-creative full-time job for over 20+ years, I finally left full-time employment on Thursday, 26th May to pursue music full-time. This is considered a brave move by many but what I really feel called to do. So, now the adventure begins (after a little rest) into different avenues of music which I'll be sure to post about.

New venture - new video
This is a first day of me being a full-time / freelance composer/musician, after 20+ years of balancing that with a full-time job. So last night's task was to redo my study/studio after bringing back my keyboards from last weekend's Axxent Opaque gig. I did a ‘quick’ video of me reconstructing my studio which can be viewed on YouTube (and is on the Home Page of this site). The music used is CosmoMoose " Dead Exit Main Theme " - a future release!

I am arranging a new music event to be held in Teignmouth on Saturday, 29th October 2022 . Helping with sound for Manna Theatre Company
Had a fantastic weekend helping out with the sound on Manna Theatre Company ' s superb musical The Passion . Technical wise, there were challenges using radio mics outside during rehearsal but everything sorting out in the end! Even the weather was ideal for the event; it rained earlier in the morning but just enough to make the grass greener :-) From a another perspective, it must be very hard to sit through the Passion and not realise just what Christ has done for you, and know His love.

I have released my own adaptation of the well-known hymn by Joseph M Scriven using the familiar three verses in modern English with an added chorus, which I’ve been told is rather catchy. :-) I wrote this because I wanted to give the meaningful lyrics a different (stronger/straight-talking) feel and be suitable for all-age worship. Axxent Opaque performance in Somerset
We played in the beautiful surroundings of St Mary’s church on the isle of Wedmore in Somerset which was very atmospheric and inspirational. There was fantastic lighting and video projection, thanks to Richard Anthony Bean who we shared our two date concerts with. His lighting and laser rig really complimented the stonework and arches of this lovely old church. With Richard and Axxent Opaque, the audience experienced two quite different styles of electronic music which went down very well.

Axxent Opaque performance at SYNTHS BY THE SEA
This is the second of our two-date mini tour with Richard Anthony Bean ; this time at the Riviera building, in Teignmouth, Devon. a former cinema and the home of my church. It was another fantastic venue with great atmosphere and a good turnout to watch us. The night went very well despite some inevitable technical issues, thankfully resolved before we started. It was a real joy doing this dual concert series with Richard and a real pleasure to get to see him perform live. We would all love to repeat this experience next year.

Axxent Opaque have split
The band Axxent Opaque, which was formed in 2016 and first perfored in 2018 has now split and will no longer be performing together. Our last concert was on 29th October 2022 in Teignmouth at an event I organised called Synths by the Sea . It is unlikely that the footage from that concert or the previous night in Somerset, will be released. It has been a pleasure working with the other two band members and I am grateful for the privilege of playing live. I am taking this as an opportunity to focus on my solo musical projects and will shortly archive the web page which can still be accessed here.

The video to my ambient track Comsat Sonaris had its YouTube premiere at 8pm today. This is the first time I have done a Youtube première, and I’m sure it will be the first of more to come. NEW CosmoMoose track on Ambient Compilation album
Late last year the ambient music label, Chitra Records , ran a contest for artists to submit unreleased ambient music for their compilation album called Sonoris . Although ambient music was not my primary genre, I submitted a specially composed piece called Comsat Sonaris which was accepted for the album. The album consists of 17 tracks by various artists and is available to download, or purchase as a double-CD, on Bandcamp , and to download/stream from Spotify/Apple Music/Amazon etc. This album should appeal to ambient music fans and has inspired me to create more music in that genre.

NEW CosmoMoose Single Release
The second high-octane single from my forthcoming album is released. It’s called Comet Rider , a name that seemed to emerge when I was working on the piece. NEW release - the first from NATURE’S REALM
Swamp and Thunder is nature sound effects created because a music licensing company was looking for two and a half minute loopable sound effects tracks. I later found that it was being used in YouTube videos etc. so I thought I'd release it because people seem to listen to nature sounds on Spotify etc. It's released under a new moniker called NATURE'S REALM which I use for sound effects. Remastered Christmas Single release
In 2010, I released a Christmas EP which included the song A Love Gift from Heaven. which I recorded with my family. My son, Joshua, who was then 11 years old, sweetly sang the opening line; he is now 23 (but still likes to sing!). I wanted to re-release this song under my Kids Praise Songs moniker so have remastered it, and it now sounds brighter with more depth. NEW CosmoMoose Single and Music Video
Première
I decided to release a third single from the forthcoming album, Light Beyond the Stars (Canon) . It is an atmospheric song with Christian lyrics ‘sung’ by Vocaloid Avanna software (previously used on Song of the Saved, My Beautiful Day and more). One month to go until the big album release
The mixing and mastering is virtually complete for the new album which is to be called Cosmic Adventures , and the artwork is in progress. Here is the front cover! The release date is set to be Friday, 14 April 2023 when the album will be available on CD, download and streaming. Also, on that date, there will be a YouTube première of the album with a specially prepared video that I am creating using stock video clips arranged in a way to go with the narrative of the album.

Today marks the release of Cosmic Adventures, an album that was months, if not years, in the making . It was created to be a "soundtrack for the mind" charting the highs and lows of space exploration with strong catchy themes taking the listener on an hour-long musical journey where space travel is an adventure. Helping with sound for Manna Theatre Company
It was a privilege to help out on the sound desk for The Passion play presented by Manna Theatre Company in Leek town centre, Staffordshire. Many people were truly moved by it, including me fighting back tears when needing to concentrate on microphone cues. It really showed, right in front of you, what Christ had done for us. I also helped with orchestrating a beautiful song of theirs. After a days of dodgy weather, the sun shone throughout just like when it was performed outdoors in Nuneaton. Looking forward to it being performed again outdoors in my locality Teignmouth in August.

CosmoMoose Album Music Video
Première
For the past month I've been beavering away to create a video for my new album Cosmic Adventures to in order to present a proper audio-visual experience. The video clips are mostly from stock footage, specially arranged to compliment the narrative of the album that covers many moods: euphoric, sad, racing, contemplative, but predominantly on the theme of SPACE. Good headphones or decent speakers, plus a large screen are recommended to make this a truly immersive audio-visual experience. Sky High is a cheerful piano melody inspired by the birds that flutter and chatter about in my garden. The first track is a solo Playful Piano version and the second track is subtitled Playful Piano with Birdsong (the added birds reinforce the point of the theme!). CosmoMoose Remix of Song
The night before my last day of full-time employment (May last year) I received a message from Christian singer-songwriter Lucinda asking whether I arranged songs for other people. That wasn't something I had considered when leaving employment to pursue a music career but felt God’s lead. There are various recordings in my back catalogue where I am not happy with the way they were mastered. Very often they sound too dull or not punchy enough. Therefore I am going through the process of remastering and re-releasing old tracks on an almost weekly basis. NEW CosmoMoose Ambient Single Release
Forest Reflections is the first in a series of ambient tracks to be released every few weeks. This nature inspired piece has already proved to be quite popular but it had humble beginnings as a piano improvisation recorded in 2012 over a textured synth pad called "Ambient Woodpecker" - a name that caught my attention! I forgot about it until recently when, upon discovery, I slowed it down, corrected some notes, added birdsong and lots of reverb to create a real forestscape. Second NEW CosmoMoose Ambient Single Release
Alone in a Café is a warm emotional piano ambient composition. For this piece I imagined someone sitting alone in a café, hugging their mug of coffee, staring into space or out of the window, full of thoughts, surrounded by others sitting, drinking and chatting. As the piece goes on, the thoughts become louder and the outside world drowned out (as the strings slowly build in the music). CosmoMoose VIRTUAL CONCERT
My first virtual concert of new compositions recorded in my studio was broadcast at 8pm UK time via TwitchTV and can be viewed on this link. I was honoured to have been asked by Nick Mellis to perform a set of ambient/space/electronic music as part of Nick's International Virtual Garage concert series where so many talented artists have performed before. I opted to pre-record the performance using 4 camera angles to give a real feel of what I'm playing. The musical set is intended to be a voyage through time and space and I am planning to release it as a live album (with no overdubs) called Livescapes .

This afternoon I was interviewed by Andy Francis of Christian radio station, Hope FM , specifically about my work as CosmoMoose, and also about a stage musical I had written and had been shelved for many years. NEW CosmoMoose track on Compilation Album
Today is the International Day of Peace . To mark this occasion, the online community Contemporary Classical Collective (CCC) have released a charity compilation album called “ Keys for Peace ” which includes my track " Love Lost but Peace Found ", specially composed for this album. The middle section features Voclaloid Avanna female voice like many previous tracks. The proceeds of this album will be donated to S.O.S. Enfants , a humanitarian association. NEW CosmoMoose Christmas Single Release
The CosmoMoose Christmas single is now an annual tradition of mine where I take a traditional Christmas carol and give it my own arrangement. This year I’ve created a lush ethereal version of Coventry Carol, an old English Christmas carol, usually sung by a church choir (rather than a congregation). This peaceful ambient instrumental version aims to paint a picture of an old rural church, in a peaceful winter snow setting, under a canopy of stars (much like the cover photo). NEW PROJECT and Release - Psalmbience
Psalmbience is where I read a Psalm from the Bible over specially composed ambient music. The idea came when some members of my church were in a carnival procession handing out tiny glass jars with little scrolls of scripture. I was handed Psalm 121. As I read it, a melody came to me which suited the length and rhythm of the text. As I recently enjoyed creating ambient music, I have recorded Psalm 121 in that style, with an instrumental version I Lift up my Eyes to the Hills . Alone Beneath the Stars is a warm emotional piano ambient composition. This melancholic instrumental paints a picture of being alone with your thoughts under the expanse and beauty of the night sky. NEW Psalmbience Release
T oday marks the release of Psalm 91 (In the Secret Place of the Most High) under my Psalmbience moniker. The release consists of two tracks: Track 1 features me reading from the Psalm over a specially composed ambient backing track, while Track 2 is a meditative instrumental based on that backing track. The music has dramatic twists that reflect the nature of the subject matter. NEW CosmoMoose track on Compilation
Today is the International Day of Peace . To mark this occasion, the online community Contemporary Classical Collective (CCC) have released a charity compilation album called “ Keys for Peace ” which includes my track " Love Lost but Peace Found ", specially composed for this album. The middle section features Voclaloid Avanna female voice like many previous tracks. The proceeds of this album will be donated to S.O.S. Enfants , a humanitarian association. This afternoon I was interviewed by Andy Francis of Christian radio station, Hope FM , specifically about my work as CosmoMoose, and also about a stage musical I had written and had been shelved for many years. For this piece I imagined someone sitting alone in a café, hugging their mug of coffee, staring into space or out of the window, full of thoughts, surrounded by others sitting, drinking and chatting. There are various recordings in my back catalogue where I am not happy with the way they were mastered. Very often they sound too dull or not punchy enough. Therefore I am going through the process of remastering and re-releasing old tracks on an almost weekly basis. The night before my last day of full-time employment (May last year) I received a message from Christian singer-songwriter Lucinda asking whether I arranged songs for other people. That wasn't something I had considered when leaving employment to pursue a music career but felt God’s lead. Late last year the ambient music label, Chitra Records , ran a contest for artists to submit unreleased ambient music for their compilation album called Sonoris . Although ambient music was not my primary genre, I submitted a specially composed piece called Comsat Sonaris which was accepted for the album. The album consists of 17 tracks by various artists and is available to download, or purchase as a double-CD, on Bandcamp , and to download/stream from Spotify/Apple Music/Amazon etc. This album should appeal to ambient music fans and has inspired me to create more music in that genre.6 January 2023

Swamp and Thunder is nature sound effects created because a music licensing company was looking for two and a half minute loopable sound effects tracks. The brand new Axxent Opaque CD/DVD album " FROM THE DARK DIMENSION" ( referring to coming out of the dark period of lockdown) is now available on Bandcamp This recording, featuring 9 brand new tracks, is from the live internet broadcast that took place on 30 October 2021, which can be heard on CD and viewed/heard on DVD. Our synth band performed an hour long set, between 11pm-12am, that was broadcast live on YouTube, being the last of four acts performing that night. This was the result of a few days of rehearsing, or rather creating new material to perform, partially structured and partially improvised. The video and audio quality for the viewers was great and we performed the entire set better than we had done all weekend.

Axxent Opaque were guests on Radio Show
Tonight we were honoured to be guests on the Future Sound Of Exeter radio show, hosted by Paul Giblin , and broadcast on Phonic FM . The two hour show passed very quickly as Paul played our entire album From The Dark Dimension interspersed with other electronic music. It was great being able to talk about each track in turn and generally describe the creative process that went into producing the album. It was a lot of fun to do and Paul was a great host. Axxent Opaque to appear at Awakenings
It is great news that the Awakenings series of live electronic music events has restarted after what feels like an eternity due to the virus. This will be Axxent Opaque ’s first live concert in front of a live audience since June 2019. The date is Saturday May 21st. The venue is once again the Lea Hall Social Club, Sandy Lane, Rugeley, Staffordshire WS15 2LB. Start times to be confirmed, but it is an evening concert. Away in A Manger released on Bandcamp
This synth version of Away in a Manger is now available to download from Bandcamp . It was originally made to be a backing track to accompany children singing in a church carol service in 2007-8 and was later released as part of a charity- Christmas EP in December 2010 under my own name. Even though it was made before I started recording as CosmoMoose , I re-released it under that name because its synth tone is in keeping with the 'CosmoMoose sound'.

My last day in full-time employment
After balancing my music with a non-creative full-time job for over 20+ years, I finally left full-time employment on Thursday, 26th May to pursue music full-time. This is considered a brave move by many but what I really feel called to do.So, now the adventure begins (after a little rest) into different avenues of music which I'll be sure to post about.30 May 2022
New venture - new video
This is a first day of me being a full-time / freelance composer/musician, after 20+ years of balancing that with a full- time job. So last night's task was to redo my study/studio after bringing back my keyboards from last weekend's Axxent Opaque gig. Helping with sound for Manna Theatre Company
Had a fantastic weekend helping out with the sound on Manna Theatre Company ' s superb musical The Passion . Technical wise, there were challenges using radio mics outside during rehearsal but everything sorting out in the end! Even the weather was ideal for the event; it rained earlier in the morning but just enough to make the grass greener :-) From a another perspective, it must be very hard to sit through the Passion and not realise just what Christ has done for you, and know His love.

Axxent Opaque performance in Somerset
We played in the beautiful surroundings of St Mary’s church on the isle of Wedmore in Somerset which was very atmospheric and inspirational. There was fantastic lighting and video projection, thanks to Richard Anthony Bean who we shared our two date concerts with. His lighting and laser rig really complimented the stonework and arches of this lovely old church. With Richard and Axxent Opaque, the audience experienced two quite different styles of electronic music which went down very well.

Axxent Opaque perform at SYNTHS BY THE SEA
This is the second of our two-date mini tour with Richard Anthony Bean ; this time at the Riviera building, in Teignmouth, Devon. a former cinema and the home of my church. It was another fantastic venue with great atmosphere and a good turnout to watch us. The night went very well despite some inevitable technical issues, thankfully resolved before we started. It was a real joy doing this dual concert series with Richard and a real pleasure to get to see him perform live. We would all love to repeat this experience next year.

Remastered Christmas Single release
In 2010, I released a Christmas EP which included the song A Love Gift from Heaven. which I recorded with my family. My son, Joshua, who was then 11 years old, sweetly sang the opening line; he is now 23 (but still likes to sing!). I wanted to re- release this song under my Kids Praise Songs moniker so have remastered it, and it now sounds brighter with more depth. Axxent Opaque have split
The band Axxent Opaque, which was formed in 2016 and first perfored in 2018 has now split and will no longer be performing together. Our last concert was on 29th October 2022 in Teignmouth at an event I organised called Synths by the Sea . It is unlikely that the footage from that concert or the previous night in Somerset, will be released. It has been a pleasure working with the other two band members and I am grateful for the privilege of playing live. I am taking this as an opportunity to focus on my solo musical projects and will shortly archive the web page which can still be accessed here.

Première
I decided to release a third single from the forthcoming album, Light Beyond the Stars (Canon) . It is an atmospheric song with Christian lyrics ‘sung’ by Vocaloid Avanna software (previously used on Song of the Saved, My Beautiful Day etc). One month to go until the big album release
The mixing and mastering is virtually complete for the new album which is to be called Cosmic Adventures , and the artwork is in progress. Here is the front cover! Helping with sound for Manna Theatre Company
It was a privilege to help out on the sound desk for The Passion play presented by Manna Theatre Company in Leek town centre, Staffordshire. Many people were truly moved by it, including me fighting back tears when needing to concentrate on microphone cues. It really showed, right in front of you, what Christ had done for us. I also helped with orchestrating a beautiful song of theirs. After a days of dodgy weather, the sun shone throughout just like when it was performed outdoors in Nuneaton. Looking forward to it being performed again outdoors in my locality Teignmouth in August.14 April 2023

For the past month I've been beavering away to create a video for my new album Cosmic Adventures to in order to present a proper audio-visual experience. The video clips are mostly from stock footage, specially arranged to compliment the narrative of the album that covers many moods: euphoric, sad, racing, contemplative, but predominantly on the theme of SPACE. Sky High is a cheerful piano melody inspired by the birds that flutter and chatter about in my garden. The first track is a solo Playful Piano version and the second track is subtitled Playful Piano with Birdsong (the added birds reinforce the point of the theme!). Forest Reflections is the first in a series of ambient tracks to be released every few weeks. This nature inspired piece has already proved to be quite popular but it had humble beginnings as a piano improvisation recorded in 2012 over a textured synth pad called "Ambient Woodpecker" - a name that caught my attention! I forgot about it until recently when, upon discovery, I slowed it down, corrected some notes, added birdsong and lots of reverb to create a real forestscape. CosmoMoose VIRTUAL CONCERT
My first virtual concert of new compositions recorded in my studio was broadcast at 8pm UK time via TwitchTV on this link. I was honoured to have been asked by Nick Mellis to perform a set of ambient/space/electronic music as part of Nick's International Virtual Garage concert series where so many talented artists have performed before. I opted to pre-record the performance using 4 camera angles to give a real feel of what I'm playing. The CosmoMoose Christmas single is now an annual tradition of mine where I take a traditional Christmas carol and give it my own arrangement. This year I’ve created a lush ethereal version of Coventry Carol, an old English Christmas carol, usually sung by a church choir (rather than a congregation). It continues with the dense and experimental mood of VOID but this time there is no sense of even a chord change, let alone melody which is unusual for me. It is a drone tone painting of a dwarf star emerging from a nebula, much like the AI generated cover illustration. It is available to download/stream from Spotify/Apple Music/Amazon etc .

NEW PROJECT and Release - Psalmbience
Psalmbience is where I read a Psalm from the Bible over specially composed ambient music. The idea came when some members of my church were in a carnival procession handing out tiny glass jars with little scrolls of scripture. I was handed Psalm 121. As I read it, a melody came to me which suited the length and rhythm of the text. As I recently enjoyed creating ambient music, I have recorded Psalm 121 in that style, with an instrumental version I Lift up my Eyes to the Hills . It is expected to be the first in a series of releases, and is available to stream from Spotify/Apple Music etc .

NEW Kids Praise Songs Single Release
The motivational family worship song Don’t Run Out of Steam was originally on the Kids Praise album All Aboard the Heaven Express. I have now released a simpler version of the song (without the long outro section) to be used in church services etc. It is available to listen and download on Bandcamp and also to download/stream from Spotify/Apple Music/Amazon etc. The cover contains the steam train from the original album cover, which is from a photo of a Mallard engine taken on Dawlish sea wall.

NEW CosmoMoose Ambient Single Release
Alone Beneath the Stars is a warm emotional piano ambient composition. This melancholic instrumental paints a picture of being alone with your thoughts under the expanse and beauty of the night sky. This piece acted as a form of self-expression, coupled with my love of gazing at the night sky. It begins with piano and light synths later accompanied by strings that give the piece extra poignancy. NEW Psalmbience Release
T oday marks the release of Psalm 91 (In the Secret Place of the Most High) under my Psalmbience moniker. The release consists of two tracks: Track 1 features me reading from the Psalm over a specially composed ambient backing track, while Track 2 is a meditative instrumental based on that backing track. The music has dramatic twists that reflect the nature of the subject matter. This is the second in the series of Psalmbience series of releases, and is available to stream from Spotify/Apple Music etc .
